WOW!

Check out the rapid success of the new 454-metagenomic sequencer in the Bioinformatics Core Facility. Not only has the instrument exceeded the rated capacity of the instrument (as much as 160,000 HQ reads of average 460bp per read), but this success has already led to a $75,000 agreement with the USDA in Fort Detrick, MD, and dozens of other projects (including paired-end sequencing and RNA-seq) already in the sequencing queue.

Congratulations to Dr. Hong Jin Hwang for excellence in sequencing!
